Whilst there has been growing awareness of Tongue tie over the past decade, there is still so much controversy and debate around how it can impact infant feeding.

There is even more anguish and trauma for women, birthing people and their babies as they navigate and establish their feeding journey.

For the vast majority of parents, there is an innate desire to breast/chestfeed their baby, yet the complexities around infant feeding, limited knowledge and conflicting information continue to create confusion and disarray for the families needing support at such poignant times in their lives.

There is still the ongoing belief that tongue tie doesn't exist, that it doesn't impact feeding, and that the infant will grow out of it. Yet, without fully understanding what constitutes a tongue tie, what optimal tongue function is and without sound knowledge base around infant feeding, then the roadblocks that so many families face will continue to arise.

This 4-week Introductory online teaching provides a deeper insight and exploration into tongue tie. Delving into the evidence base, case studies and strategy, so that you can gain more clarity to confidently support your clients on their feeding journey.

This is a foundational course for practitioners and infant feeding supporters who want to gain deeper clarity to successfully support your clients without confusion and overwhelm.

Hi,

I'm Carmelle Gentle...

I am a mother to my two wonderful daughters, an independent midwife, IBCLC and Tongue Tie Specialist.

I qualified as a midwife in 2006 and have worked within various NHS trusts in London. Since 2015 I have had the joy of working independently as a tongue tie specialist and did extensive training to become an IBCLC. I get to support families navigating their infant feeding journey, to achieve their innate desire to breastfeed their baby.

After completing my Masters in Public Health, I found myself on a mission to make a bigger impact within infant feeding; by raising awareness and increasing competency so we can begin to shift and transform the longer-term outcomes for breast/chestfeeding families.
